1411 – The Battle of Harlaw was a Scottish clan battle fought just north of Inverurie in Aberdeenshire. It was one of a series of battles fought during the Middle Ages between the barons of northeast Scotland against those from the west coast.

2009 – The Rudine derailment occurred near the village of Rudine in southern Croatia, on the Zagreb-Split railway line. The accident caused the deaths of 6 people, and 55 have been injured.
