Located at the head of the Chesapeake Bay in Elk Neck State Park, this lighthouse was built in 1833. It began providing electric light in 1942 and became automated in 1947. Fannie May Salter was the last female lighthouse keeper in the United States by tending to this light from 1925-1947.

The lighthouse was used as a watchtower during World War II. The house located next to the light was torn down in 1972. The light was added to the National Register of Historical Places in 2002.

Scenes from the 1998 movie "Dead Man's Curve" were filmed here. It starred Matthew Lilliard, Michael Vartan, Randall Batinkoff, Keri Russell, and Dana Delany.]]>

Marcus Hook Range Rear Lighthouse is a lighthouse in Delaware.

The permanent structure was preceded by a temporary light tower erected in 1915. Marcus Hook Range Rear Lighthouse was built in 1918 and was composed of nine sections of reinforced concrete. The Marcus Hook Range Front Light was built in 1925. It sits on a concrete pier in the Delaware River. The Coast Guard made minor repairs to the rear range tower in 2000. In March 2005 the lighthouse became available for transfer under the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act. The original keeper’s quarters is now a private residence. The tower is an active aid to navigation and not open to the public.]]>

First fort built in the city, it had the function of hindering the enemies entrance in Todos os Santos Bay. Initiated in 1582, it got the shape of an irregular polygon with ten sides, six salient and four re-entering angles. Its current dimensions, however, just came about in the 17th century. The first wooden lighthouse, which functioned with whale oil, was made in 1696 and it indicated the entrance of the bay, alerting to the dangers of the coral reef or sandbank of Santo Antônio, the current iron lighthouse, working with electricity, was built in 1836. In 1646 Livonian governor general Gabriel Oxenstierna had a primitive lighthouse – a beacon – built on a little island located at the tip of Sõrve Peninsula. Autumn storms showed that the small island selected for the beacon was unsuitable and the beacon was relocated to the tip of Sõrve Peninsula. A stone tower was established there in 1770, but it was destroyed in the Second World War. The present cone-shaped lighthouse of monolithic concrete was built in 1960.
Interesting facts: • The height of Sõrve Lighthouse from its foot is 52 metres and it is 53 metres above sea level.

The Two Harbors Light is the oldest operating lighthouse in the US state of Minnesota. Overlooking Lake Superior's Agate Bay, the lighthouse is located in Two Harbors, Minnesota. The construction of the Lighthouse began in 1891. The construction of the lighthouse was completed in 1892, the first lighting of the Two Harbors light was on April 14, 1892.The first Two Harbors Keeper was Charles Lederle and there were normally three Keepers assigned to make sure the light was lit 24 hours a day. The Lighthouse was built to provide safe passage into the Agate Bay Harbor during the early 20th century, as Two Harbors was the major shipping point for the iron ores of the Mesabi Range, far surpassing Duluth in importance.

Split Rock Lighthouse is a lighthouse located southwest of Silver Bay, Minnesota, USA on the North Shore of Lake Superior. The structure was designed by lighthouse engineer Ralph Russell Tinkham and was completed in 1910 by the United States Lighthouse Service at a cost of $75,000, including the buildings and the land. It was built in response to the loss of ships during the famous Mataafa Storm of 1905, in which 29 ships were lost on Lake Superior. One of these shipwrecks, the Madeira, is located just north of the lighthouse. The light was first lit on July 31, 1910.

Active; focal plane 38 m (125 ft); four white flashes, in a 3+1 pattern, every 20 s. 37 m (121 ft) robust round masonry tower with lantern and gallery, rising through the center of a 2-story keeper's house. 3rd order Chance Brothers Fresnel lens (1922). Entire lighthouse painted white. One of the oldest and most historic lighthouses of Spain, this tower has lived an eventful life. The lighthouse was damaged by an earthquake in 1898 and not completely repaired until 1913. It was further damaged by artillery during the Spanish Civil War of the 1930s; it had to be extensively repaired and refurbished in 1939. In recent years GPS and radar installations have been added. It is known affectionately as La Farola, a term usually used for much smaller light towers. Floodlit at night, it is a familiar symbol of the city's waterfront. Located on the Paseo de la Farola on the east side of the harbor of Málaga.

This lighthouse was built by a resort developer after very careful research; it is considered to be a faithful reproduction. The Coast Guard has a historic photo of the original lighthouse, which was deactivated and demolished in 1962. The replica was constructed in an artificial pond just off the beach and adjacent to a golf course on Old Plantation Creek, about 2 miles (3.2 km) from the original location.
