Having served for 21 years as a restaurant, this IL 18 was actually removed in 2011 from its position as seen on the current satellite image and will be probably placed at the nearby junction of the M1 Motorway because there is much more traffic there.

The Douglas C-54 Skymaster was a four-engined transport aircraft used by the United States Army Air Forces and British forces in World War II and the Korean War. Besides transport of cargo, it also carried presidents, British heads of government, and military staff. Dozens of variants of the C-54 were employed in a wide variety of non-combat roles such as air-sea rescue, scientific and military research and missile tracking and recovery. During the Berlin Airlift it hauled coal and food supplies to West Berlin.

After the Korean War it continued to be used for military and civilian uses by more than thirty countries. This was one of the first aircraft to carry the President of the United States and to assume the call sign Air Force One.

The plane is an Ilyushin 18 and was built in 1960. In its first years, it served as a government plane for the DDR top dogs, including Erich Honecker. From 1964 to 1986 Interflug, an East-German airline company, used it for flights to countries like Cuba, Russia, China and Vietnam. It could accommodate a total of 120 passengers and a four-man crew in the cockpit. After the German unification the plane served as a restaurant for 15 years until it was acquired by Hotelsuites.nl in 2007.

The entire airplane has been converted into a single luxury suite for two guests. Outside the former Bredlund Brewery in Sladelse you can see the remains of a BAC 111-510ED One-Eleven plane. Today it's used as dining place for the brewery. Especially pupular used for parties.

Built at Bournemouth in 1968 for BEA, later British Airways. Sold to European Aviation in 1993, eventually ending her career with Air Bristol (later AB Airlines). This was the aircraft recently used to stage a wedding reception, after a couple were married in a DC-3 over London.

FACh 960 made a forced landing on a site near the present location of the "house" in 1976, with the fuselage being moved later by a local who assembled part of his house with it. It seems the plane may have been suffered more damage after the eruption of Chaitén Volcano.

The plane-boat started its improbable journey as a Boeing 307 Stratoliner originally owned by industrialist and aviation pioneer Howard Hughes who acquired the plane in 1939 as part of his purchase of TWA. The 307 was the world’s first commercial pressurized aircraft that was a variant of the B-17 Flying Fortress. The NAMC YS-11 is a turboprop airliner built by a Japanese consortium, the Nihon Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation. The program was initiated by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry in 1954: the aircraft was rolled out in 1962, and production ceased in 1974.

To date, the YS-11 is the only successful commercial aircraft made by a Japanese firm, either before or after World War II. 182 were produced in total. Although most of the aircraft was designed and manufactured in Japan, the engines were built by Rolls-Royce. Also, electrical appliances, gauges, machinery and cockpit hardware were supplied either from Japanese Industries or foreign overseas providers during the YS-11's time of production.

This ex Lufthansa Viscount has spent a lot of years as restaurant "Silbervogel" (Silverbird) in Eschershausen, SW of Hannover, but recently it was moved into the town of Hannover. To the corner of Bückeburger Allee and Mercedes Strasse to be exact.

In October 1989 this plane was ferried to Stölln and made a spectacular landing on the grass runway. This is also the place where pioneer Otto Lilienthal used to fly his gliders. So you can call it the oldest airfield in the world!
