The Tallinn Botanical Garden contains over 8 000 plant species and classes.

The Botanics, established in 1961, cover an area of 110 hectares. They contain five large collections on open land: an arboretum, a rosary, perennials, bulbous plants and summer flowers. However, there are many more individual exhibitions, including a heather garden, low-growth bulbous plants, lilies, a stone garden, peonies, astilbes, primroses, and useful plants. Altogether, the Gardens exhibit over 5000 plant classes and species.

The majority of plants growing in Estonia’s parks and gardens can be seen here, as well as rarer plant types and new decorative plant species which can survive in Estonia’s climate.

There are around 2400 taxons in the greenhouse plants collection (with 2100 m² of glassed-in surface area). Beside the plant groups which are widely recognized and which grow in broad areas (palms, cactuses, thick-leaved plants, orchids, araceae), there are also many species from Australia, Madagascar, the Canary Islands, and elsewhere. Numerous useful plants are on display (coffee, cacao, vanilla, cardamom, banana, date, lemon, olive, locust, black pepper, and others), as well as plenty, which are suitable as houseplants.

Specialized exhibits change nearly every month, and cover such themes as medicinal and poisonous plants; exotic fruits; taste and smell; mushrooms; various cutting flowers; and much more. Thematic tours are also available throughout the year, most popular among them being the summer-night aroma tours and the rose days.

Peter I began building the palace in 1718, and it was called Ekaterinenthal, or Catherinenthal, in honour of Catherine I.
The architect of the temporary summer residence palace and park was the Italian Niccolo Michetti, who was later involved with the famous Peterhog Palace. It is said that the tsar himself laid the first foundation stones for the palace.
The museum organizes concerts and theatre performances, lectures and receptions, in addition to art exhibitions.
The Great Coastal Gate (Suur Rannavärav) and Fat Margaret's Tower (Paks Margareeta) were built as a defense on the seaward side of town, but also for impressing visitors coming in from the sea.

The Great Coastal Gate, built along with the city wall, is situated on the northern side of the Old Town, near the harbour.

During the reconstruction of the gate in the early 16th century, the cannon tower Fat Margaret was added. The round tower, with 155 loopholes, a diameter of 25 meters, and a height of about 20 meters, was built to protect the harbour. It got its name from the fact that it was indeed the stoutest tower in the city wall. Through history, the cannon tower has also served as a storehouse for gunpowder and weapons, and as a prison.

Fat Margaret's Tower now houses the Estonian Maritime Museum, with a permanent exhibit on Estonian maritime and fishing history. The viewing platform on the roof affords a lovely view onto the Old Town and the bay.

The Convent of St. Bridget was the largest convent of Old Livonia.

Established by Tallinn’s wealthy merchants in 1407, construction was begun on the convent itself immediately. It is a typical example of late Gothic churches in Tallinn. The church was destroyed in the second half of the 16th century, and today only the western limestone gable, 35 meters high, and side walls remain standing. In the 17th century, a farmers' cemetery developed in front of the ruins.
The convent was unique in that its constitution allowed male priests to live there and organise everyday religious ceremonies and processions on religious holidays. There are also tales of secret underground passageways between the convent and the city of Tallinn.
Today, the convent is a pleasant spot for relaxation and sightseeing. In addition to the impressive ruins themselves and their surrounding greenery, the site is a venue for open-air concerts and a convent day celebration, where a traditional fair takes place in the convent grounds.

The Tallinn TV Tower (Tallinna teletorn) is a free-standing structure with an observation deck, built to provide better telecommunication services for the 1980 Moscow Summer Olympics regatta event (see Yachting at the 1980 Summer Olympics). It is located in Tallinn, Estonia. The tower has a specification height of 314 metres (1030.2 ft), some sources state 312.6 metres (1026.6 ft). Building is administered by a public company Levira (formerly Estonian Broadcasting Transmission Center Ltd) and is a member in World Federation of Great Towers.

The tower was designed by architects David Baziladze and Juri Sinis. The cornerstone was laid in September 30, 1975, and the building was inaugurated in July 11, 1980. The tower body is constructed of reinforced concrete rings 50 centimetres thick, weighing a total of 17,000 metric tons, with total weight being approximately 20,000 tons. The tower survived a fire during construction stage.
The observation deck, which was originally designed to have a rotating section, is located 170 metres above ground, and has a diameter of 38 metres. One of Tallinn's most worthwhile places to visit is located at the foot of the Lasnamägi area of the city on Pirita Road near the sea. This place is the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds where the All-Estonian Song Festivals have been held since 1928. Also festive ceremonies, concerts, open-air performances, exhibitions, and other events take place in this vast area. In 1988 several manifestations abounding with people were organized where patriotic songs were sung and blue-black-white flags were flown after a lengthy time of them being forbidden. These summer days were later called the "singing revolution". At the end of the summer, on September 11, a huge event took place at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds entitled "The Song Of Estonia". More than 300,000 people participated, and for the first time the re-establishment of Estonia's independence was openly demanded.
Lauluväljak

The most dominant feature of the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds is the Song festival stage - the only one of its kind. The current grandstand-like sounding board structure, which holds up to 24,000 singers, was erected in place of the previous one for the 1960 All-Estonian Song Festival. The construction of the song festival stage is original and unique. The space between the point of support of the front arch is 73 meters. The back arch unites with it at the same points. In between the two arches is the concavo-convex screen made out of wooden shields, which has two convexities - a hyperboloid paraboloid. This way, all the groups of voices can be distinguished but the sound as a whole is directed out to the Song Festival Grounds.

The width of the song festival stage is 120 meters. The 43 steps of the center section rise 18 meters high. The height of the center of the front arch is 36 meters and its diameter is 2 meters. Both of the side walls of the song festival stage reach out to the towers. During the festival, radio and television broadcasts can be made from the south tower. At the top of the 42-meter-high north tower is the festival flame. The building materials of these structures include locally mixed limestone, concrete, wood, and metal. The creators of the project (A. Kotli and H. Sepmann, architects; E. Paalman, engineer; H. Laul and H. Oruvee, consultants) were successful in designing an architectural masterpiece that is whole and unique. This includes a concavity in the shape of an ellipse which is where the audience sits. This area is 200 meters in length and 175 meters in width.
