I've noticed that when I generate a map URL via the Submit location to VirtualGlobetrotting function, the link is in the https://www.google.com/maps/ form. However, when I check my list of submissions, I see that that has changed to https://maps.google.com/maps/ form. Why does that happen?

Hi Alephs!
This is a side-effect of some legacy code running on the site. Both URLs work, but we decided to standardize on one "look" so our parsing code can easily know which type of URL it is.
