Looks like a GM only update last night. Most of CA has new images and Eastern TX. With the new low res high altitude it is hard to tell what has been updated though. Hopefully this will be in GE soon so we can more clearly see what has been updated.

US States
California - expansion on several metropolitan areas, some rural areas with new cover Texas - several new rural areas (like western I-10 highway), parts of east Texas North Carolina - Wilmington Connecticut - the entire state in high res now New Hamshire - Big areas in southeast Maine - Large new areas along the coastline, and west central Georgia - southern part of the state Montana - the entire state in high res now New Mexico - updates around Las Cruces
The Netherlands - the rest of the country in high res Belgium - big areas have been added for Antwerp, and new data for Brussels Japan - Takamatsu added Norway - Area in and around Bergen added New Zeland - Auckland and Wellington with new data Germany - Munich, Dusseldorf, Karlsruhe, Gelsenkirchen, Erlangen/Fuerth, Ludwigshafen, Schwerte... Puerto Rico - area around San Juan Austria - area in southern mountains

Google described their new update:
We've updated a significant portion of our imagery database. We now have high-resolution imagery for 17 additional US cities
Albuquerque Augusta Baltimore Corpus Christi Houston Little Rock McAllen Miami Philadelphia Pierre Pittsburg Riverside-San Bernadino San Diego San Juan Spokane St. Louis Wichita
6 additional prefectures in Japan
Chiba Ehime Kagawa Kanagawa Nara Shizuoka)
7 additional German cities
Dusseldorf Erlangen Fuerth Gelsenkirchen Ludwigshafen Muenchen Schwerte Karlsruhe
...and also in the Netherlands.
We've also significantly increased our coverage and updated the imagery for states throughout the US

Am I the only one to notice a very important slow down of GoogleMaps page? Since about a week (the update?), refreshing, scrolling, zooming are very slow. However, GoogleEarth is ok.

It's getting worse and worse... Don't know why I have to use Firefox, now. GooglesMaps did'nt work anymore on Safari.
