Huge Birds Eye View Update - May 23, 2007
      05/24/07 05:16 PM (199.190.211.3)

I haven't seen these mentioned anywhere yet.

Perhaps a pre-emptive strike by Microsoft against Google. Google has their developer conference next week and many people expect they'll release new features and content in conjunction with it.

Doesn't it seem they are just making "official" locations that have been BEV for a while. I jumped on a couple of the "new" BEV sites in the UK, only to discover I had already been there before.

San Remo is an Italian city, not french.

This is my list so any errors are mine. I expanded the "all London" by extrapolation and it could be wrong. There looks like there were two updates in this release. London and all the rest. London alone was about half the size of all the others put together in this list and separated by a dead block of unused URLs.

To generate the list I start with a known view in the new batch and jump forward and backward in increments of 1000 images and record the largest city in the vicinity. If it is on the edge of old imagery i may be recording a city that is already on the list.

The list I pointed to in my second post looks like it started as an internal Microsoft list because it mentioned resolving complaints with the B&W low res images the "we' sometimes get. It is worth looking at the official list because it lists all the non-BEV updates that i often ignore.
