I've added a small feature today: when you hover your mouse over one of the mini thumbnails such as nearby maps (and a few other places), a pop-up appears with the full thumbnail and title of the map.
Let me know if it's helpful, or too aggressive anywhere. The popup shouldn't initiate until you've rested the mouse on a smaller thumbnail/link for at least 250ms (1/4 second).

Works OK, but the lower row and the left column all load mostly off screen.
I'm sure there's a bit of code to work around that, right?

Any map page with 12 thumbs. When I mouse over the lower row or the left column of thumbs the pop-ups 'pop' mostly off the screen.

Gotcha. What resolution are you running? 1024x768?
Let me think of how I can fix this for all cases...
