I think that it would be better if users had access to change the information on their maps. I can update the description on Youtube and many other websites, and I think it would help here too. I always feel like I am bothering someone when I post a comment to correct a misspelling or add information.

I agree that would be nice. One way that I was thinking of allowing this would be users would be able to submit, on a form like the Submit form, edits to the title, description, more-info and location fields. They would be auto-approved for user's own maps, but moderators could still validate them to watch over any changes.
