Cheyenne or F.E. Warren AFB?

Maps of F. E. Warren AFB give the location as "Cheyenne" rather than "F.E. Warren AFB". I thought it was standard practice to identify military sites by official name: camp, fort, base. Here's an example of "Cheyenne":
