Speaking of Google's 45 degree imagery, what's the policy on this?
My own feeling is that there should be only two Google types, straight overhead sat / aerial, and street-view.
The angular aerial should, I think, be the domain of Bing...
Either way, of course, it's small potatoes, non-issue, just idle brain waves...

The current state evolved slowly over time as each new type service was added.
Map type 1:
Google overhead (GM) or Google 45 degree or Bing overhead (Bing) or Birds Eye View (BEV) or Yahoo
Map Type 2:
Google Street View or Bing's version of Street View (whenever we figure out how to handle the URL)
In other words Street View is a type and all others is another type. So even if one location is covered in all seven mapping services there will be at most two submissions for that location.
