Hmm. I've googled around and can't find any connection between Hangar 2 or Hangar 3 and the space shuttle. In Google Earth these hangars are incorrectly tagged as wind tunnels. The great big wind tunnel on the other side of the runway (see my pics of it I submitted yesterday) was used for airflow testing on the shuttle so maybe they are confused. The shuttle isn't really that big that it needs giant hangars like these. Maybe the shuttle stopped in here while on a piggy back ride to avoid wheather or something. |
