Duracell is the only tenant at the 310,000-square-foot building, which opened in November of 1995 and cost $70 million to build. Duracell's world headquarters in Bethel is so self-sufficient that employees often never leave the premises from morning to night. There is no executive dining room, parking area or entrance. The cafeteria seats 250 people and its attractive decor rivals that of many fine restaurants.
