This area very freaky after April 2006 database update. Original site obscured by semi-transparent overlay.

That is odd. I wonder if the original site could have been taken before the area had been dug out. Evidently, the thick walls of the old pens wreaked havoc on Airbus' efforts to extend the runway, causing extensive delays.

Evidently, Google has replaced the area with an old map. The thumbnail shown was taken from a different map set just a couple of weeks ago (4/13/06). I recently had the privildedge to visit the site and have included a photo from the ground.

Not only has Google replaced the area with an old map. They've replaced the area with a very old map. In the shot being used now 3/4 of the airfield is still under construction. At the time of the thumbnail and at the time of the accompanying photos on the ground, the area is highly developed. I guess Airbus didn't like the likes of Boeingbeing able to see what they are up to and convinced Google to doctor a previously detailed map. I'll post a new ground photo showing some of the extensive development that was visible in the removed map.
