1960 Ewing Joe Hunt Magneto Special Roadster

1960 Ewing Joe Hunt Magneto Special Roadster (StreetView)
This Offenhauser-powered roadster designed by Wayne Ewing raced in the 1960 Indy 500.

1955 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year, Al Herman, was hired to drive this car. After starting in 30th place, he made his way up to 16th place when he made his first pit stop. The clutch broke as he attempted to leave the pit area, forcing him out of the race. He died a few weeks later in a racing accident.

This car is currently owned by car collector and publisher Joseph Freeman.
