Aker MTW is a well known shipyard on the Baltic Sea with more than 50 years of experience. It is located close to the old historical hanseatic city centre of Wismar, halfway between two other hanseatic towns: Rostock and Lübeck.

The layout of the new yard allows Aker MTW to increase ship size up to 335m length and 60m beam. The sophisticated production machinery park combined with the knowledge of about 1500 highly skilled employees enables Aker MTW to build also ships such as Icebreaking Tanker with complex hull structures, thick plates, large profiles and narrow frame spacing with an appropriate quality.
