Johnny Bench is widely considered the greatest catcher of all time. Mike Piazza is considered the greatest hitting catcher of all time but due to his weak ability to throw out runners, he's knocked down to second. Yogi, while having 10 (i believe) World Series rings, isn't one of the two best ever. Third best? Beats me. In any case, he is definitely a highly respected and much loved member of the New York Yankees legendary history. |

I respect your comments and tend to agree with you from a statistical standpoint. However, my comments were based on the heart and personal feelings for Yogi and not really having anything to do with stats. I guess I should have added "in my opinon" after the greatest catcher of all-time comment. Thanks for your remarks. |
