Description: Charles Lindbergh's historic solo flight across the Atlantic began at Roosevelt Field on Long Island. The field closed in 1951 and was redeveloped as a shopping mall in the 70s. Although it is labelled on Google Maps as "Roosevelt Field", not one trace of the airport architecture remains.

Anonymous's picture the reason that it is labelled on Google Maps as "Roosevelt Field", is because that is the name of the mall complex that now resides there
