This is actually just the carcass of an A-10. I've been here on base for 4+ years and it has never moved. The story that I've been told is that a private investor purchased it with the intention of restoring it and later flying it, but the cost associated with procuring military spare parts was greater than he anticipated. Right now, the plane sits at the Aero Club covered in bird droppings.

I was here when it got to Langley back in 2000-2001, it was meant to be put on a stick in air power park but after the individual that was heading it up pcs'd and hurricane Isabel it was lost in the shuffle due to the massive number of buildings that had to be renovated for flood damage. Flash forward to approx. 2012 and an investor buys it and plans on overhauling it.
