Description:

Headquarters of the Army's Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), this largely administrative base is located on a point of land at the north entrance to Hampton Roads (the end of the estuary of the James River that lies between Hampton and Norfolk). On the grounds of the installation is a civil war fort.
