DonMartini's picture Mehrabad International Airport remains the primary airport of Tehran but will soon be replaced by Imam Khomeini International Airport that was completed in 2004, although the exact date of the change has been postponed several times. It is located much closer to the city center than Khomeini Airport. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mehrabad_International_Airport)
