Bodark is another name for the Osage Orange (Maclura pomifera) tree. It's a corruption of the French 'Bois d'arc' or Tree for (archery) bows. That line of trees the arc cuts through is almost certainly Osage Orange. It was widely planted as a hedge or windbreak many years ago. |
