On Bollinger Canyon Road near Las Trampas. The missile silos are used by Tracor Aerospace as part of their assembly facility - I believe they make explosive bolts, chaff dispensers, and other small pyrotechnic devices. Previously, this was where the Gyrojet rocket pistol was made. A half mile south on Bollinger there are some Nike-era buildings being used as the Las Trampas park office.

In the mid 60s, worked at that location for a short time for ?? Enterprises, making both black powder pellet fuses & magnesium flare projectiles for the Gyrojet pistols.
They used a solid rocket propellant; when it finished burning, it lit off the black powder pellet, which ignited the magnesium. They were an interesting weapon concept, and I got to see several test firing.
There were also plans for both rifles, and larger versions that would be fired in an array, like some of the WWII rocket launchers.
