Description: The stadium has a capacity of 35,000 people. The stadium is also the most famous and recognised stadiums in the country. It is sometimes given the name "The Zimbabwean Theatre Of Dreams" because of its history. Plans are under way to revamp the stadium ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
FIFA through its GOAL programme has sponsored the renovation of the natural grass pitch into an artificial football pitch. This synthetic turf pitch, called Xtreme Turf, has been manufactured and installed by ACT Global Sports.

Bob Marley historic performances on April 18 and 19, 1980, headlining Zimbabwe's inaugural Independence Day celebrations, took place here at Rufaro Stadium.
