"Using a mixture of wooden poles and styrofoam, Richard Tracy has, since 1985, built a closely packed jungle of white-painted forms. Styrofoam, reclaimed packaging material, is carved into faces and archaic forms before being attached to tall poles. The whiteness of the environment imparts an eerie unity. Tracy is known as Richart, "Rich Art", and his environment has attracted all manner of found objects: old shoes, washtubs, flower pots and brushes. Tracy has also made animals in crudely welded metal; some of these stand at the roadside frontage, while others lie deep inside the labyrinthine complex."

"At its heart is his own hideaway, his "confessional", where he can sit and enjoy the view over the outside world. Tracy is well-educated and gives lessons to art students, encouraging them to follow his own unique methods of working." (from "Fantasy Worlds" by Deidi Von Schaewen and John Maizels)
