Description:
This is the building where the highly acclaimed Montgomery Donuts were made.

They filed for bankruptcy several years ago, but what finally did them in was a roof collapse in February 2003 due to an extremely heavy snowfall.

IMHO, their Boston Cream donut was light years above the competition.

Anonymous's picture Those were some "kick-butt" donuts...Anyone who went to school in Montgomery County in the '60's through the '80's remembers how they were often used for fundraising in local high schools.

Dunkin and Krispy Kreme Donutsjust don't cut it when compared to the late and great Montgomery Donuts...

Fond memory #1: In the fall, they made pumpkin flavored donuts...I recall one Halloween when a family served donuts and hot cider outside to all takers...Hi to Gordon and Russell Hatch of Windermere subdivision in Rockville, wherever you are now.
