The historic Bureau of Medicine and Surgery campus is located in the heart of Washington DC, near such landmarks as the White House, the National Mall, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. In years past, the BUMED campus served as the U.S. Naval Observatory, Washington Naval Hospital, and a medical/nursing school. Today, BUMED is the site where the leadership for Navy Medicine is crafted and the strategic planning and policymaking to achieve that vision is carried out.
