Recent reports of Disney executives tromping around the site of the closed River Country water park and more recent reports of Imagineers in the same area have led to rumors of new resort development. Screamscape is reporting that a new Disney Vacation Club resort will be built between Fort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge, causing River Country and the current Tri-Circle-D Ranch to be leveled. The ranch would be relocated nearby.

They would have to completely reconstruct everything and set up new water supply lines in order for it to be able to reopen. I've been there and everything is just so decayed and rotted there would be no way that they could use hardly any of the original structuring or systems. It would cost millions for them to somewhat restore and would just be a huge waste of money for the company. As much as I would like to see it reopen the probability of that happening is very close to zero
