On December 14, 2012 Adam Lanza killed his mother at this home that they shared. He then took her car to Sandy Hook Elementary School where she worked and killed 26 people, including 20 students and the school's principal. It was the second-deadliest school shooting in U.S. history, after the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre.
