African Island

African Island

Woodbine, Georgia (GA), US
It looks like privately owned farmland. The immediately surrounding swamp is not named on topographic maps, but Barrel Head Swamp and Negro House Bay are in the distance to the southwest, while Camp Creek is on the west and the creek to the east (which you must cross over to get to the island) is unnamed.

The island's name undoubtedly has something to do with slavery as slaves used to work every square mile of this region.
