The Albert Memorial, designed by George Gilbert Scott, is situated in Kensington Gardens in London. Unveiled in 1872 it is located directly to the north of the Royal Albert Hall. It was commissioned by Queen Victoria in memory of her husband, Prince Albert, who died of typhoid in 1861. It is considered to be one of the most ornate memorials in England.
