The Alcobaça Monastery (Mosteiro de Alcobaça, Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Alcobaça) is a Catholic monastic complex in central Portugal. The monastery was established in 1153 by the 1st Portuguese king, Afonso Henriques, and would develop a close association with the Portuguese monarchy throughout its 700-yr history.

The church and monastery were the 1st Gothic buildings in the country, and was 1 of the most important medieval monasteries in the nation. Due to its artistic, cultural, and historical relevance, it was included in UNESCO's World Heritage Site list in 1989.
