@ 2005-07-09 21:07:40

@ 2005-07-10 21:16:48
Why would a photoshopped image be in the google databases?
@ 2005-07-11 18:52:12
That MUST be fake.. something with those colors would to easly stand out on a earthy-background
@ 2005-07-12 14:35:53
It is a problem with a satellite. I bet in it. An explanation so simple. An ET civilization here in Earth seems ridiculous....
(sorry for my poor English)
@ 2005-07-14 12:57:53
Can someone take a dive and let us know?
@ 2005-07-14 21:09:51
Yeah it looks like tv when youre watching a scrambled cable channel. Alien civiliazation my ass
@ 2005-07-19 20:31:28
That's not an alien civilization! Zoom out! It's Missouri! Close enough, hahahahahaha!
@ 2005-07-25 12:00:02
If you scroll the google map down, you'll notice the Sat image changes colours...in fact the alien civilization turns into a RIVER further south.
An interesting glitch, but not an alien :)
@ 2005-07-26 12:35:15
Kind of reminds me of a microchip layout.
@ 2005-08-10 14:48:50
I live close to there and in fact that is part of smithville lake which measn that all of that is under water. I have heard many people say that they see strange red and or green lights that fly over that part of the lake at night. they say that you can watch them for about 1 1/2 hours on almost any night. please let me know if you have any more info.
@ 2005-08-15 15:26:32
i have heard the same thing WOW!
@ 2005-08-20 15:56:32
I am an alien that lives there. Stop spying on us you stupid earthlings.
@ 2005-08-22 16:07:24
google has a sence of humour. that's all it is. if you look at satelite images of the moon, zoom in all the way and you see animated cheese.
@ 2005-08-23 15:33:29
Is there a military base nearby?
@ 2005-08-24 08:16:48
Maube ice, reflecting the sattelite? it is indeed a river, the upper photo maybe taken in winter, the lower in summer..
@ 2005-10-08 23:12:35
that is exactly what it is the sattalite photo that has the error is from the older types of infrred sattalites that would sometimes screw up when reflecting on ice. I guess someone left it in couse its cool.
@ 2005-10-30 18:14:11
kinda of looks like a CPU [computer processing unit] zoomed in really close. pretty cool if i might say so myself..
@ 2005-11-05 14:53:01
I got a picture of a normal lake with the same lines, but no purple color
@ 2006-01-09 16:24:21
look a little to the North East of this photo, and you'll see a huge gray cloud, and the shadow it casts on earth. Nothing really special, but pretty cool looking.
@ 2006-01-09 16:24:52
let me rephrase that... look a LOT to the north east.
@ 2006-02-03 14:12:21
Smithville Resevoir is what it's called. I've been there, I've jet skiied on the lake, it's not an alien civilization.
@ 2006-03-07 06:08:59
Atlantis was so scared of being caught in the Atlantic Ocean that they moved their whole city to Missouri. Now stop this stupid rambling about "aliens".
@ 2006-03-21 12:16:27
I found an answer for you... wated a whole lunch break because I was curious... :p
According to the interweb... there was a lot of toxic release in the waters of [URL=
]Clinton County, MO. [URL=
So it looks like it is an underwater chemical waste management facility. Not a strange space alien city. Tell your friends.
@ 2006-03-21 15:03:09
Well, if so that's one hell of an expensive underwater chemical waste facility... according to
Smithville Reservoir covers 11 square miles, just over 7000 acres.
it seems that the only serious contamination in the reservior is the pesticide atrazine:
which, while not harmless, certainly wouldn't necessitate the type of structure you postulate.
