How incredibly depressing. this was such a wonderful area.
My grandparents built two houses on the last block of Rosemary (before you reached Gratiot) in the 1920's and lived in one of them until 1976, My mother and her life long friends went to Davids School and Church.
I have such wonderful and vivid memories of this place, a tree shaded street with immaculate lawns and well kept houses, and flowers in the alleys!
Outer drive, one street south was green beautifully maintained.
What has happened here is so incredibly horrible, it is a surreal nightmare!
It is unbelievable that within the very short period of 40 years this neighbor up to 7 mile went from a well kept middle class working area with some beautiful buildings and well established prominent businesses (some still viable and strong in the Detroit suburbs)
I believe that if any of the people who lived in this area from the 1920's to the 1950's came back to life and could take a look at the degraded rat hole that it has become and with this extraordinary distinction, this would kill them again.
