Ansa di Zenson WWI battlefield

Zenson di Piave, Italy (IT)
Historical bend where Italian's army was faced and manages Austroungarian's army during the battles of November 1917 and June 1918. In the first two weeks of November the Austrians succeeded in occupying the bend, but counterattacks conducted by the brigades Lecce, Pinerolo and Novara, forced them on December 31 to retire. In June 1918 the VII Austrian's body of army (part of the V armed - Group Boroevic) commanded by the general Wurm and the XXVIII Italian's body of army (Brigades Ferrara and Avellino - III army commanded by the S.A.R. the Duke of Aosta), after bloody battles the Austrians succeeded in occupying the town (stings strategic to unite the two heads of bridge of Fagaré and San Donà). But the 23 June of the same month Italians definitely chased the Austrians from the town
