Apollo Boiler Plate 12 is an unmaned, transonic abort test vehicle. It was launched using a Little Joe II booster launch vehicle from White Sands Missile Range on May 13th, 1964. It was the first full-scale test flight of the launch escape system in the transonic speed range.
