Kutcher bought the property in December 2007, for $8,000,000. The seller was Wayne Kao.

In December 2016, Kutcher filed for permits to construct a two-storey main house, together with a two-storey guest house, a pool house, and a pavilion. The construction company is Crest Real Estate.
