Once billed as the "world's fastest 1/3 mile dirt oval track", it closed after the 2006 season ending 36 years of racing. A trucking company bought the land and tore down the track.

In the recently added google street view of this area, the track is still there, but the grandstands appear to have been torn down.

I drove by there the other day and stopped and looked around. What a total waste. They close it down, bust up the buildings/stands and then let it sit and rot. Did they really have to rush and destroy it without a plan to start their mighty trucking terminal? Wish they had kept it as is and just lease the track until it was needed. It was a lot of fun taking the kids there.

The new track is finally under construction and is expected to open in May 2014. The 1/4 mile clay oval will be named I-40 Raceway.
