Anita and Octavio, meet in Anita's native Texas just after Octavio's arrival from from Chihuahua, Mexico and start a family and a small grocery store. Known for cooking and entertaining this fun loving household was always full of guests. Today the home stands as Avila's Mexican Restaurant and the same warm and inviting atmosphere and traditional recipes that made the Avila family home so popular still stand along with the building.

Today, however owned by son, Ricardo, Anita's Texas upbringing shines through the menu with acclaimed creations such as the "Brisket Gordita," to accompany tradtional dishes such as Mole con pollo and Guisado de Puerco. Fresh lime margaritas, vegetarian selection, and a chill vibe are also part of the Avila's tradition.
