The first airplane to fly in Annapolis, the B1 Wright Brother-built aircraft, was assembled on Sept. 6, 1911 by Lt. John Rodgers, naval aviator number two, and midshipmen in Dahlgren Hall. The next morning, it was hauled off to Farragut Field to make the first airplane flight in Annapolis.
