Bob Johnson (March 4, 1931 – November 26, 1991) was a legendary ice hockey coach. He earned his nickname "Badger Bob" while coaching the University of Wisconsin Badgers hockey team. In fifteen seasons, the Badgers won three national titles.

He coached the 1976 US Olympic team and seven other national teams in international competition. From 1987-90, he served as President of USA Hockey.

In 1982, he was hired to coach the NHL's Calgary Flames for five seasons. In 1990, he was hired to coach the Pittsburgh Penguins and took them to a Stanley Cup title. Just a few months after the highlight of his coaching career, he suffered a brain aneurysm and was diagnosed with brain cancer. He passed away three months later.

Bob was known for his catchphrase "It's a Great Day For Hockey!"
