I had a good friend who lived for some time in a small frame house on Bear Island, Fl. He had a small outboard boat to go to Crescent City for groceries, etc. And also had a small generator for powering a well pump and electricity. We flew him out on the short airstrip in a Piper Apache along with three of us in the plane and the generator. Quite an experience, used the entire overgrown runway and lifted off at the last moment. We all held our breath until we got airborn.

I was wondering if anyone knows who owns or is a postion to allow an aircraft to land on this Island (posted Oct 2, 2013)
