Bharat Desai is the billionaire founder, Chairman, and former CEO of Syntel, a large IT and outsourcing company that was started in 1980 and went public in 1997, with shares up by 300% by 2009. In 2009 he was the 212th richest person in America, with a net worth of $1.65 billion.

Desai owns a unit in this building, as well as smaller units in the 2 buildings on either side of this. He is also a skilled bridge player, competing for India in the 1994 World Championship.
