Billy Idol's House

This is the home to rock musician, songwriter and actor Billy Idol. This home is located in the Hollywood Hills in California.

William Michael Albert Broad, born November 30, 1955, is known around the world as Billy Idol. Billy Idol was born in Stanmore, Middlesex, UK. Billy took the name Billy Idol after a teacher wrote a note on his schoolwork that said “William is idle”. Originally spelled Idle, Billy chose to change the spelling to Idol so he wouldn’t get confused with Eric Idle of Monty Python fame. Billy found his punk rock roots in his teenage years where he was a member of the Bromley Contingent – a suburban group of Sex Pistols fans who traveled to towns where the band was playing. He later formed his own band, Generation X. This punk band was the first of its kind to perform on Top of the Pops in the UK. After a name change (Gen X) and three albums, the group disbanded in 1981 when Billy Idol moved to the US to work on his solo career.

His first album “Billy Idol” was released in July 1982. His second album, “Rebel Yell” was released in 1983 and sold more than 2 Million copies and was a considered a major success. He has been nominated for three Grammy awards for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance and has been featured in the movies “The Wedding Singer”, “Heavy Metal 2000” and “The Doors”. Billy has gone on to release eight studio albums with his most recent “Kings & Queens of the Underground” in 2014. Also in 2014, he released his self-penned biography “Dancing with Myself”. Billy Idol is finishing up a tour for his current album and is planning on setting up a residency in Las Vegas playing the House of Blues in the Mandalay Bay hotel on the nights current resident, Carlos Santana, is off.

Little is known about Billy Idol’s house other than that it is located in the Hollywood Hills and is rumored to have a red walled living room. Billy is father to son, Willem Wolf Brand, from ex-girlfriend Perry Lister and daughter, Bonne Blue, to Linda Mathis. They were born in 1988 and 1989, respectively. Billy Idol is rumored to be worth about $35 Million.
