Bishopton Castle

Long Description:
Bishopton Castle is a Motte and Bailey Castle constructed during the 12th century A.D. by the Conyers family. The Motte is the great mound while the Bailey is the enclosed surrounding area. This type of fortification was built by Normans following their conquest of England.
