'Blades of Steel' by Mark Marino and Chris Barton

Niagara Falls, Canada (CA)
This metal sculpture of a hockey player stands 17 feet tall and weighs 800 pounds. It was unveiled on December 1, 2011, after being donated by Ironworks, a local metal fabrication business that spent over a year creating it. It stands in front of the new Gale Centre, which contains four ice rinks.

A contest to name the sculpture was held, and the winning name Blades of Steel was selected in January 2012.
