Boone's Colonial Inn is a throwback to the time when Saint Charles was the last "civilized" stop heading west before the wilderness along the Missouri River.
The name of the Inn is a reference to Daniel Boone who served as commandant of the area until 1804.
William Clark arrived in St. Charles on May 16, 1804 with his 40 men and boats. They made final preparations, attended parties and dinners before Meriwether Clark arrived from St. Louis.
