Building B, Brooklyn Army Terminal (Birds Eye)
The Brooklyn Army Terminal was Port of Embarkation in World Wars I and II, shipping 85% of the cargo sent to Europe. Building B, closer in the image, is 980 ft x 360 ft, with 52 acres of floor space. It was the largest individual building in the world when it was completed in 1919. A central atrium, covered with skylights, runs the length of the building and is large enough to hold 50 railroad cars.
