The New Yorker did an interview with this guy. He's a bit odd. His home has no windows and sounds like it was decorated by a nerd who never grew up.

Note the white fleck at the start of the driveway. It's the tail of an airplane that has his address number on it.

His company Scaled Composites at the airport to the NE won the X-prize.
