Cairo Apartment Building

Washington, Washington, DC (DC), US
From www.culturaltourismdc.org:

Designed by architect T. Franklin Schneider, this Sullivanesque-styled building was among the city's largest early apartment buildings. It was built as the tallest privately owned stucture (160 feet), and the significant outrage over its construction led to adoption of Washington, DC's building height limit.
